Design Concept

A simple solution I needed - Thought I'd share it with others. I got tired of tearing vacuum bags, so I bought plastic bins to store my filaments. These "dry boxes" work very well but I constantly needed to rotate small containers or bags filled with silica gel beads. I made these 'almost triangle' shaped bead containers to replace all the little ones. Yes, they are bit big but they also serve as spacers.

Use

These containers fit between two rows of spools and can also act as a spacer to keep things tidy while keeping the humidity in check. You don't need to fill them up. Half-full already made a huge difference for me.

Printing Suggestions

March 2026 - Replaced all files with version 2 :

I noticed that the walls were too thin and broke when using certain PLA. I made the walls thicker to avoid this.

I have included 3MF and STL files. There are two lengths:

195mm and 235mm - I printed mine with the K1C and Hi.

To minimize print times, I orientated the vent slots horizontally.

Print with PLA,

0.20mm Layer Height

15% Rectilinear Infill

Tree support - Critical Areas only

'Slow down for overhangs" must be enabled.

Don't worry if the supports leaves marks on the screw threads. The threads are 2mm and the cap should screw on easily over the marks.

Assembly Instructions

Once printed, fill with silica gel beads and secure the cap. Place the holder inside your filament storage container or drybox.
