This dog scent training hide is designed to hold scent material while allowing odor to disperse through the ventilated lid. The vent holes form a smiley face pattern, adding a little personality while still providing effective airflow for scent work.

The base of the hide is shaped like a golf tee-style stake, allowing it to be pushed into the ground for outdoor nosework and scent training. This makes it easy to set hides in yards, fields, or training areas while keeping the container upright and accessible for the dog to locate.

Print Tips and Recommendations

Do:
Print the stake on its side (horizontal) so the layer lines run across the width of the tee, not along its length. This greatly improves strength when pushing it into the ground.
Use more wall/perimeter loops for added strength, especially on the stake portion
Use a moderate layer height (0.16–0.2 mm) for a good balance of strength and detail
Ensure good layer adhesion, as this will be pushed into the ground
Take advantage of the updated lid design for improved airflow during scent work
Use the angled interior scent tee to reduce the need for supports

Don’t:
Don’t prioritize speed over strength, fast prints can weaken the stake
Don’t rely on low wall counts, as this can make the tee fragile
Don’t print the stake fully vertical if durability is important
Don’t overuse supports inside the container, the angled design is made to avoid them

***Printing the stake sideways will significantly increase strength, but may slightly reduce surface quality on one side of the container. This is a trade-off between strength and appearance, so choose based on your use case.
