MODEL DESCRIPTION

This fully parametric (Fusion 360 file included) 3D-printable photo frame is designed in Fusion 360 and optimized for easy printing, durability, and flexibility. It consists of four main components:

• Photo Frame Body
• Interchangeable Back Plate (choose between a plain version or one with integrated screw hangers for wall-mounting)
• Display Stand Pin (for tabletop display)
• Eight Retaining Pins (to secure the back plate in place. Note: there is only one pin in the fusion file, please print eight)

The frame supports both portrait and landscape display. Two built-in holes on the back of the frame allow the round stand pin to slide in for stable tabletop placement in either orientation.

One of the interchangeable back plates includes two screw-hanger slots—one for portrait hanging and one for landscape—while the other back plate is smooth for a clean look when using the stand only.

Although the provided STL files are pre-configured for a 10 × 15 cm photo, the entire model is fully parametric, allowing advanced users to modify nearly every dimension inside Fusion 360.

DESIGN CONCEPT

This model was built around the idea of a highly customizable, maker-friendly photo frame with mechanical features that adapt automatically to user-defined parameters.

Adjustable Primary Dimensions (Within reason)

The following main variables drive the entire design:
1. Photo_Width – Width of the inserted photo
2. Photo_Height – Height of the inserted photo
3. Frame_Width – Outer border width around the picture
4. Frame_Thickness – Depth of the body of the frame
5. Photo_Landing – Width of the inner ledge that supports the photo
6. Glass_Thickness – Thickness allowance for an optional glass or acrylic front
7. Screw_Head_D – Diameter of the screw head used for wall mounting
8. Stand_Length – Length of the support stand pin (recommended 40–50 mm)
9. Photo_thickness – The thickness of the photo paper
10. Pin_Hole_Tolerance – The tolerance of the hole where the retaining pin is inserted. The diameter of the hole will be this amount bigger than the pin. All 3D printers print with different tolerances and therefor need to be adjusted to the tolerance of you printer to achieve snug fit of the pin.

When a user changes any of these driving dimensions, all secondary features—including hole size, pin geometry, frame clearances, and the fit of the back plate—update automatically to maintain proper strength and tolerances.
