As a veterinary student, I see a lot of amputations of our four-legged pets loose their limbs in accidents a lot almost every week!
As a veterinary student and 3D CAD designer, I’ve created low-cost prosthetics designed with replaceable toe fittings and a specialized cart for double amputees. These prosthetics are an affordable and effective solution for pets with limb loss, helping to restore their mobility and quality of life. The unique replaceable fittings allow the prosthetics to be adjusted as needed, accommodating a pet’s natural movement and growth over time, which promotes long-term comfort and usability.

For example, dogs like Labrador Retrievers, who are often active and energetic, benefit greatly from these prosthetics as they can return to playing and running, which supports their overall health. Similarly, cats like the agile Siamese breed can enjoy improved mobility with these prosthetics, enabling them to jump and explore with ease. This focus on mobility and adaptability is especially important for pets with amputations, as it reduces strain on their remaining limbs and prevents secondary injuries.

Being a veterinary student deeply invested in animal care, my goal is to provide accessible solutions that enhance the well-being of pets and allow them to live happy, fulfilling lives despite their physical challenges.
