Let's save the birds! the last dinosaurs remaining!

As a veterinary student who regularly works with wild and migratory birds, I understand firsthand the importance of conservation efforts for our small avian friends. With many species facing threats from habitat loss, food scarcity, and environmental changes, providing safe, sustainable feeding and nesting solutions has become essential.

To aid in these efforts, I've designed an innovative, print-in-place birdhouse and bird feeder specifically tailored to meet the needs of small birds, migratory birds, and wild birds. This unique design utilizes living hinges, allowing for durability and flexibility in various shapes—such as diamond, triangle, and square. Living hinges distribute pressure evenly, resulting in a resilient structure that withstands outdoor elements better than traditional bent designs. The birdhouses and feeders are lightweight yet robust, ensuring they can be easily placed in multiple settings while remaining a long-lasting option.

Each birdhouse includes a perch for birds to comfortably rest and an integrated storage compartment for birdseed, providing a complete habitat and feeding station. This design is aimed at supporting a variety of small bird species, including finches, sparrows, and chickadees, which rely on accessible food sources during migration and breeding seasons.

With a deep commitment to wildlife conservation and my ongoing work in veterinary studies, I see this project as a crucial step toward protecting these birds. Species like the American Goldfinch, House Sparrow, and Ruby-crowned Kinglet are increasingly vulnerable to environmental pressures. By providing safe and functional nesting and feeding stations, we can support these species' survival and contribute to a healthier ecosystem for all.
