There are many phone, tablet and laptop stands available for download. Few that allow for shallow angles like 15-20% for writing and drawing or can hold the tablet in portrait mode. So I designed a more universal one (which took me 6 tries...).

Design:

I needed something that was:

* Portable - as small as possible

* Allow for shallow angles to be able to type and write

* Allow to be used in portrait mode

* Support different devices up to 15mm thick

* Stable (!) with a clamping mechanism

After a few very elegant designs (that did not work), came up with a nerdy technical and practical design that uses screws to clamp the device. Created 3 versions:

* Portrait (the first original design) - stable and useful for phones and tablets under a shallow angle.

* Landscape - you need 2 of these and then virtual all tablets can be put under a shallow up to quite a steep angle. It works for laptops too.

* Universal - a model with 2 screws, one to clamp and one to set the height. (hence it rests on the second screw). Not the most beautiful design and on slippery surfaces not as good as the other two.

I use the portrait version the most! Especially for my iPad mini. The screws are M8-1 (1 mm thread). You could use metal M8.. but would not suggest it. Mount the stand on your device and just tighten it slightly by hand. DO NOT TIGHTEN TOO TIGHT.

It does not work well with phone or tablet covers! At least not the ones I have.

Print settings:

For all prints:

0.2 mm or lower layer height

4 wall loops

20% infill

No support needed, but suggest to use mouse-ears (brims) for the brackets. The corners are rounded and may warp.

For the screws can be printed vertical without support.

Assembly:

Look at the pictures, it should be straight forward ;-) just mount the screw that's it. The first time, the screws might be a bit tight due to excess material of the seams. There are slicer settings to optimize seams, but with my Ender 3V3 I had so far never an issue.
