Video and Photo Slider / Camera Rail / Modular Based on Openbuilds

This slider setup is now in its 4th generation, further developed and well thought out while remaining simple and modular. It’s based on a few Openbuilds parts and is the perfect extension for your camera setup. Whether you enjoy timelapse photography or are passionate about filming, this slider gives you great flexibility. All components can be adjusted as needed and can be easily expanded.

You only need the following parts from the Openbuilds network (available everywhere):

1.) Openbuilds aluminum rails in 20x20mm in your desired length,
2.) a Nema 17 stepper motor, which allows you to move with pinpoint accuracy,
3.) GT2 belts in at least twice the length you want your slider to be,
4.) a GT2 pulley for your Nema 17 motor with 16 to 24 teeth
5.) A hexagon screw in 1/4 - UNC or 3/8 - UNC for your camera mount/ball head or other camera accessories,
6.) Openbuilds T-slot blocks with M5 thread (longer slider = more ribs = more T-slot blocks),
7.) Melt-in threaded sleeves with M4 and M5 threads,
6.) Screws (I recommend stainless steel cylinder head screws with low heads DIN 7984), 4x (M5x22mm), many M5x14mm, 8x (M5x8mm), x (M5x16mm for the handles), M4 and M3 for the Nema 17 motor,
7.) A 3D printer and material in PLA, PLA+, PLA-CF, PETG, ABS, or ASA (I did everything in PLA+, works great), TPU can be helpful for the rubber buffers, or alternatively, you can also buy rubber buffers (22mm diameter) and glue them on),
8.) Openbuild rollers, 4 pieces, 2x 6mm spacer sleeves and 2x 6mm eccentric sleeves,
9.) 6x fitting pins (4mm x 12mm),
10.) 4x M5 nuts, preferably self-locking for the Openbuilds rollers,
11.) 2x ball bearings with shoulder, type flange ball bearing F6900-ZZ (10x22x6mm),
12.) Washers for M5 with max. 15mm outer diameter,
13.) An Openbuilds base plate for the rollers, or as an alternative, I have designed a few plates of my own and included them in this set for you to print yourself!

Recommended print settings:
- PLA, PLA+, PETG, ABS, or ASA (PLA has always worked fine for me!)
- min. 4 Walls for all parts
- Minimum 20% infill
